I’m inspired by storytellers who articulate stories in ways that bring coherence to complex ideas. As an artist, I make paintings that integrate the poetry of a thing with the thing itself. My work is influenced by the theatre, literature, philosophy, and sociology.

I use interpretive realism to explore objects as characters, scenery as mise-en-scène, and simple interactions on an epic scale. I use color dramatically, through both limited and vibrant color palettes. I subtly juxtapose and combine realistic shapes with fantastical ones.
